It’s been over three months since I took on the role of Head of Broker Distribution, and it has certainly been a busy start to the year.

Over the last couple of months, I’ve spent a large amount of time travelling around the country meeting many of our aggregators and broker partners. It’s been invaluable to hear straight from the source what your challenges and opportunities are, where Adelaide Bank leads the market and where we can improve. I’ve also dedicated a lot of time to working with our internal departments, including our processing teams, to assist in reviewing and refining our end to end assessment process, and I look forward to being able to share some changes shortly which will make our submission process easier and quicker.

It’s my aim to ensure Adelaide Bank’s commitment to continuous improvement remains a hard-wired part of our DNA.

Since our last Broker News edition, our (long awaited) mobile app was released, we’ve sharpened our interest rates and re-released our popular Lease-Doc commercial product. We’ve also welcomed two new BDMS to our team; Aaron in Queensland and Natalie in NSW. (And will soon have another BDM to introduce to you.)

In terms of what else will be happening this year, we’ve recently received our latest Partner Experience Survey results. We’ll soon share them with you in our next edition of this newsletter, along with how what you've had to say will shape our plans moving forward.

On a final note, I can’t help but briefly mention the Royal Commission.

Whilst the potential impact on our industry is still being worked through, one thing I have noted is that, to a degree, the media spotlight on brokers has also had a positive impact. The way the public has championed brokers as their respected ally has been terrific to see and has left the 40% of people who didn’t use a broker last year for their home loan to reconsider their thinking. Further to that, given that change appears to remain the only constant in our industry, your role as a broker is now more important than ever in helping consumers navigate their way. And Adelaide Bank is fully committed to assisting you to do just that.

So, in my view, opportunity is certainly out there for you. And, as always, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Our Partner Assist team receives a lot of questions regarding the ins and outs of Loan Connect. Find out the answers to the most common ones.

How do I upload documents to Loan Connect?

Uploading via LoanConnect is easy. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Head to brokers.adelaide.bank.com.au and select the ’Loan Connect’ option at the top (just under the Adelaide Bank logo)
  2. Select Login
    Your username is your 6 digit broker code
    If you’ve forgotten/don’t know your password select ’Forgot Password’ (You’ll be sent an email to reset your password – it may be in JUNK MAIL folder)
  3. Once you’re logged in you will see the application number you submitted on ApplyOnline. Click on the file and attach it.

How do I know if my documents have uploaded correctly/ been received?

If documents are loaded separately under each item tab, the item will be marked ’Documents Supplied’ once received successfully.

If documents are bulk uploaded, an additional Bulk Upload tab will appear once the first bulk upload has been successfully received.

How do I send a note/reply to an assessor query?

Unfortunately, LoanConnect does not include the option to include a memo/note.
Notes/replies need to be saved to a Word document and then uploaded via LoanConnect.

What do I do if I get a ’Try again later’ message when I use LoanConnect?What do I do if I get a ’Try again later’ message when I use LoanConnect?

Please screen shot the error message and email it through to Partner Assist. We will then contact you to assist you with logging in.

Why can’t I just email my documents to you rather than via LoanConnect?

We cannot accept documents via email as emailing is not secure.

LoanConnect is a fast, secure and effective way to ensure your files enter the systems and assessment queue as quickly as possible.

How do I know if there's something outstanding on my application?

You can quickly and easily check application status/outstanding items by logging into Loan Connect.

Are Loan Connect contracts provided to customers?

No. The contracts provided in LoanConnect are for broker use only. We issue contracts and additional documents (i.e. the Mortgage Document) to your customer/s as per the instructions you provide in your application.

Love the rustic charm, the food, being away from the big cities and staying in small villages, swimming at a local beach during the morning, afternoon naps during the heat of the day, visiting ancient and historic sites.
Love sitting in a square with locals listening to stories of the past, having some random person playing a musical instrument whilst you enjoy a cold beer and whatever the local produce of the day may be.
Love catching a ferry service like a bus service and it taking you to the next place on your journey.
